I was grateful to be back home - Had not been there for a couple of years. There is really no excuse it is just so hard to schedule a trip home when you are trying to do it around your child's school schedule - she is grown but it is the only time to reconnect with family - so I really want her with me when I go home. My daughter does not get to see her extended family but maybe once a year - and that is not often enough for me. So, I am torn when a class reunion takes two (2) days out of time I want to spend with my family. I got to see most of the family - I did not see one aunt and uncle and some cousins - but I did okay with the family I saw. Next trip I will make sure I see the family I missed this time.
The weather is starting to get cooler here in Texas - so nice to get some relief - The garage even got some cleaning on Saturday even though there is a lot more to go. I need to get into the attic which is just too hot in the summer - and this would be an ideal time of year to do some cleaning - oh but this reminds me of the ridiculous city trash rules.
Ok, here is the deal - the city wants things to be cleaned up (which I agree) but here is the problem - If you are cleaning out your garage, or any other large space - you will have things that are really just junk - so you sweep it up and throw it in a large trash bag - RIGHT?
That is exactly what I did, bunch a junk - but I called the city - because they have a habit of not coming by my house - the hauty sounding clerk said - we will not pick up anything in a trash bag - SO, I went to the curb and tore open 9 trash bags and dumped it on the curb - what a mess....It was so much neater in those large black trash bags - but they would rather junk be flying around the neighborhood - HOW ASININE !
But they came by today - and I got to go behind them and pick up there mess left behind - I now understand why people throw trash in bags in places around the city that is considered illegal - The city makes it so difficult to keep your personal space cleaned in an efficient way - you can't put electronics in your trash, you can't put glass in your trash, you can't put building supplies in your trash - and I recycle as much as I can. I bet the mayor uses the city trash when she cleans out her garage. And since I normally only have a small amount of trash - 2 tall kitchen garbage cans a week (that is all the fits in our regular trash can) So, on a week I want to clean - it causes major problems - how to dispose of the trash? Life should not be this difficult.
Until next time.....
